BSP is sourced from bulls reared on green, clean pastures in the Waikato and is collected using a routine and harmless techniques. It is then purified and formulated to use in the Imprivo range of products.

WHAT TREATMENTS DOES THE BSP GO THROUGH BEFORE IT IS PACKAGED INTO IMPRIVO PRODUCTS?

The bull seminal fluids go through purifying treatments. They are then formulated for use in Imprivo products.

HOW DOES BSP COMPARE TO THE OTHER PROTEINS?

While using BSP in hair products is pretty unique, using protein to treat hair isn’t. Many other conditioners use proteins either derived from eggs or from plant sources, however these do not appear to be as effective as the protein from BSP.

HOW IS BSP COLLECTED?

Bull semen has been collected for artificial insemination purposes for over 50 years and is common practice worldwide. We have then separated the sperm from the seminal fluid and purified the proteins (BSP) for use in our hair care products.

WHAT ARE THE PROPERTIES OF BSP?

BSP has remarkable natural properties – which increase the tensile strength of chemically damaged hair. It also has anti-bacterial properties to assist with a healthy scalp and the ability to protect hair from harsh chemicals used in colour and bleaching processes.
